Otani KK, Japan's largest maker of hanko—those personal seals that carry the weight of identity and commitment in Japanese culture—chose to extend their mastery of precision into whisky. Under President Hiroyuki Doda's vision, the company that had spent generations perfecting the minute details of seal-making turned those same exacting standards toward distillation.
